About the shoutout series: It takes a village they say. It’s true. Sustaining my life and art practice requires support from many in my community. My shoutout series will highlight some of my favorite people who have helped me immensely in my journey. These are not paid partnerships, just good old fashioned shoutouts.
Do you run a small business and find yourself overwhelmed with the many hats you have to wear all the time? Do you know deep down you need help organizing your tasks, but you don’t know where to start? Do you have a dream you want to accomplish and you need accountability and collaboration to make it happen?
If you answered “yes” to any/all of these questions, look no further. Liliana Coelho “supports individuals and small businesses with the purposeful set up and care of their processes, projects, and spaces.”
I started working with Liliana this past summer when I was still at my day job full time, and I was about to make the transition to part time (before eventually leaving). I needed help making space for my freelance, organizing my time, and setting boundaries. Liliana approached our work together in a way that was inspiring, compassionate, and actionable.
She helped me put in place practices for my business that I’ve always said I needed to do, but never did. She found ways to help me feel organized, without feeling too stuck or rigid.
The first activity that came out of our work was time blocking my calendar. Doing this fundamentally changed how I approach work, and make time for myself. It helps me understand my capacity to take on new work/projects, plan work, and prioritize self care. Seeing self care on my calendar scheduled every week helps me set boundaries with work. Setting boundaries with work ultimately helps me do my best work, not burn out, and show up to my work excited and refreshed.
It all reminds me of something Yumi Sakugawa says about discipline.
Liliana also helped me set up my project management process in Notion, held me accountable to writing a contract, and encouraged me to find an accountant for this year.
The next time (because there definitely will be a next time) I need help organizing a new project for my business, or need some creative collaboration, I’ll be excited to work with Liliana again.
In the meantime, here are some of the other services she offers:
