If you don’t know, I have a mail club. I send people art in the mail every month for $6. I’ve always loved mail. When I was a kid, my cousin and I became pen pals, sending each other letters with stickers and photographs and doodles. In high school I made my friend mix CDs and send them to her in the mail, even tho she lived in the same zip code. It’s fun to get (fun) mail! When was the last time you got something fun in the mail?
Here is all of the (fun) mail I got this past month.
1. Sunroom Monthly Flyer
Years ago I joined Sunroom’s Monthly Flyer Club. I was ecstatic to get something beautifully made and printed each month. Every December they send a calendar for the upcoming year, and every month I look forward to opening my Sunroom mail!
2. Brittany Wilder’s Poem Club
Every month Brittany Wilder sends poems through her Poem Club. I was so excited to get my first one in December. The poem was printed on iridescent silver paper and the letter is hand-signed. There are limited spots for poem club, so if this is your thing, join the waitlist now!
3. Lucky Duck Mail Club
I recently joined internet-friend Kiki’s Lucky Duck Mail Club out of Canada. I was really inspired by Kiki’s cozy content and art that feels like a hug. In December I received this mini print, quote, and hand-signed letter.
4. Gunk
Every month I get Gunk’s riso-printed NYC Show Paper. I am not based in NY, but I love riso, and getting Gunk adds a dose of inspiration to my life every month. To get Gunk in the mail, subscribe to their Substack (paid)!
5. ‘Bats in a Cave’ Zine
My friend Alex is an incredibly talented and creative illustrator. He recently made this zine, called “Bats in a Cave” about a family of boogers living in someone’s nose. It’s amazing. I don’t know if he will continue to distribute them, but follow along in case he does! You wont’ regret it.
That’s all. I hope you all get something fun in the mail this month.
